A leading global provider of advanced power solutions and systems for critical applications is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to join their team. This position will be based in Middletown, New York, and the Sales Application Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and inside sales activities to promote Piller’s products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with customers as well as internal sales, field service and engineering to deliver an optimal solution/proposal for each customer
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Maintain a CRM tool for customer and sales management
  • Provide project-specific contract input when needed
  • Support the sales team with bids and proposals
  • Understand and overcome customer objections and provide product attributes
  • Assist client visits and trade shows

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, or an Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of technical sales support experience in the electrical or electronic field, or completion of technical school and/or equivalent military technical school with a minimum of two (2) years of technical sales support experience in critical power systems.
  • Experience in the UPS or other Power business is a plus.
  • Experience in applications or technical sales support is preferred.
  • Strong time management, planning, organizing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively within the Power Engineering community.
  • Self-motivated, achievement-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, familiarity with CAD, and experience with CRM tools.
