A major OEM in the utilities and electrical equipment/services industry is seeking a Senior Substation Field Technician with experience in Statcom, SVC and HVDC. The candidate will lead and execute work plans at customer sites
Compensation, Job Type and Benefits
- $38-42/hour (based on related experience)
- Can be located anywhere in the USA, as long as in close proximity to a major airport
- This is a traveling position, with extensive travel required for periods of time

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance on installation, repair and testing of equipment and systems
- Coordinate and implement work plans with customers and contractors for substations
- Keep track of bill of materials
- Manage and review subcontractor hours and mitigate issues
- Generate reports and documentation of equipment at customer sites
- Ensure customers and contractors are properly trained on equipment and system operation
- Perform routine test and analysis of equipment
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience with substation equipment and systems
- Understanding of technical drawings, electrical diagrams and blueprints
- Associates in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Safety-First oriented
